With an aim of intensifying corporate engagement in TB for the state of Haryana Medanta – The Medicity, in association with The Union, under the guidance of National TB Elimination Programme, Haryana, organised a corporate Consultation and launch of “Adopt a district Campaign for a TB Free Haryana’ on August 24, 2022 (Wednesday) at Medanta-the Medicity. The event was graced by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana state, Shri Manohar Lal Khattar.
The event commenced with a corporate Consultation which witnessed participation by over 30 Corporates including, Indian Oil Corporation Limited Panipat, Hero MotoCorp, Krishna Maruti, RITES, BCTA, Haryana State CSR trust etc. Also present at the event were Dr Naresh Trehan, CMD, Medanta- The Medicity, Dr Rajesh Raju, State TB Officer, Haryana State; Dr K S Sachdeva, Regional Director, The Union etc. Over 100 people had attended the event.
The event marked launch of ‘Adopt a district Campaign for a TB Free Haryana’ by Hon’ble Prime Minister. “Adopt a District campaign” is a joint campaign by Medanta- The Medicity, The Union (as technical Partner), NTEP, Haryana and to be supported by corporate through resources for implementing TB-related intervention in district of their choice. It is envisaged to be Corporate-led multi-partner model for accelerating the efforts towards TB Free Haryana by 2025.
The idea is to have at least one corporate per district in Haryana supporting the National Programme. The Chief Minister called upon corporates to adopt a district of the state. Various Corporates came forward and assured their commitment including IOCL committing for Panipat, RITES for Yamunanagar and Karnal district, Mewat by RJ Corp Ltd, Mahendragarh and Rewari by Hero MotoCorp, Gurgaon and Faridabad by Krishna Maruti etc. Mankind Pharmaceuticals has also agreed to adopt two districts namely, Palwal and Jhajjar, etc.
The Chief Minister also flagged off two Mobile Diagnostic Vans donated by Krishna Maruti to Medanta Hospital. These bus mounted mobile clinics have many facilities for TB screening and testing like portable X ray machine and TruNAAT machine etc.
